The Ossining Fire Department received a report of a structure fire inside a corner building on Central Avenue at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, leading to a heavy response from first responders in the area. The call came shortly after their annual parade concluded.

Firefighters struggled to knock down the flames in the basement, which continued to escalate, leading to additional aid from crews in Croton-on-Hudson, Yorktown Heights, Valhalla, Millwood and Tarrytown and Thornwood, who were all offered mutual aid as crews battled the blaze.

According to officials, volunteers worked on the fire for several hours, until the blaze was under control and the flames knocked down. Crews then checked the structure for hot spots and began cleaning up the scene.
